What is Chiave?
Chiave is a hosted licensing dashboard built by Wigley Studios. It lets you manage license keys, customers, and product definitions through a web interface — no self-hosting required. Think of it like Stripe for license management.
Do I need to install anything?
No. Chiave runs entirely in your browser at chiave.wigleystudios.com. After subscribing, you get a private dashboard that's ready to use immediately. Your desktop app validates licenses by calling the Chiave API.
Can I connect my own Stripe account?
Yes. During onboarding, you'll connect your Stripe account by adding your keys and webhook secret. When a customer buys your software, Stripe notifies Chiave and a license is issued automatically.
What happens if I cancel?
Your dashboard and data remain accessible in read-only mode for 30 days after cancellation. You can export your license and customer data at any time. Reactivating restores full access.
Is there a per-license fee?
No. Pricing is flat based on your plan. Whether you issue 10 licenses or 10,000, your monthly cost stays the same.
Can I upgrade or downgrade?
Yes, you can switch between Starter and Unlimited at any time. Upgrades take effect immediately; downgrades take effect at the end of your current billing period.
