What it actually is

Every "AI workspace" demo you've seen puts fake terminals in a pretty room. This one hangs the software you already pay for on the wall and lets you walk up to it.

Your apps, not mockups

The Claude desktop app on one wall, claude.ai on the next, Cursor across the room — the real windows and the real pages, logged into your accounts.

Any screen, about 200 ms away

A chord puts you in the chair at any surface, with your keyboard and mouse landing where you expect. Distance stopped being a cost, so the room got to be a room.

A secretary who dispatches

Penny takes an instruction, hands it to the right surface, and tells you when it lands. You can rename her to anything you like.

Somewhere worth being

A mountainside house with a work room, a lounge and a view. Screens go where you put them, and stay there.

What it does to your computer

Every honest description of this app reads a little like a description of malware, because putting your real software inside a game engine requires real access. Here is the whole list, and the limit on each one.

  • It reads the pixels of other windows That is the product — your apps on in-world screens. Only windows you name in your own config, and the image never leaves your GPU.
  • It installs global keyboard hooks Three keys: two for push-to-talk, one to stand up from a screen. Nothing is logged. The escape key is the only one it swallows, because an escape hatch another app can eat is not an escape hatch.
  • It can attach a virtual display driver An optional add-on that gives the world a monitor of its own to mirror. Microsoft-signed, MIT-licensed, shipped unmodified. Attached on start, detached on exit, and the app runs without it.
  • It takes the foreground and moves your mouse Only when you sit down at a screen, because that is what sitting down means. Every failure path hands control back, and F8 always stands you up.
  • It runs agents that read and write your files The point of an AI workspace. Permission-gated, and refusals are shown rather than swallowed.

That is the entire list. There is no telemetry endpoint, no analytics service and no phone-home — the bridge between the world and its brain never leaves localhost. Worth stating as three named hosts rather than as "we don't collect anything", because the second one isn't checkable and the first one is.

This build is invite-only for now. Enter the password you were given.

Windows will warn you about this build, and it is right to. It is not code-signed yet, so SmartScreen shows "Windows protected your PC" and hides the run button behind More info → Run anyway. A signing certificate is on the way; until it lands, that warning is expected.

Early build — expect rough edges, and tell me about them. Unzip anywhere and run The Lot.exe; it writes its settings next to itself and installs nothing behind your back.
